A Haunted House

This $*%! ain’t paranormal!

a-haunted-house-poster02What was the last “Good” Horror parody film? For me personally it was “Scary Movie 2” back in 2001, so it’s been 12 years since we’ve had a good or decent parody! Fear not though because Marlon Wayans is here to save the day!

For me personally since the Wayans brothers left the “Scary Movie” franchise it’s all be going downhill, each film they came out with became less and less funny until it got to the point of “Scary Move 5” where I literally wanted to walk out of the movie and punch the writer!

At the beginning of the year there were rumours that the Wayans brothers were returning in “Scary Movie 5”, I was later disappointed to see it was not true. But then I stumbled upon A Haunted House and what I found funny was both films were going to parody the “Paranormal Activity” films.

If you’d like to know what I thought of “Scary Movie 5” then check out my review on it here

Back to a haunted house, A young couple, Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins) move in together, Malcolm soon learns there is a demon in the house and in order to rid their home of this demon they hire everyone from a Priest, Father Doug Williams (Cedric the Entertainer) (who is an ex-con and actually a priest in training), to a Psychic whose more interest in Malcolm than catching the demon, to the modern day ghost busters.

The film is stupid, dumb and takes the piss a lot! If you’re a fan of “Scary Movie 1 and 2” then you’ll love this! If you’re looking for a movie that’s witty, full of heart-warming moments or award winning then I’d suggest you giving this one a miss. I personally loved it and I hope this is the beginning of maybe a new horror parody franchise.
